Health Economics in Cancer Research

The Health Economics in Cancer Research group is located within the Unit of Infections and Cancer - Information and Interventions from the Cancer Epidemiology Research Programme at the Catalan Institute of Oncology-IDIBELL. The aim of the group is to develop and apply economic models to explore issues relating to cancer prevention. The skill set of the group are applied mainly in cervical cancer prevention but also in other HPV-related diseases, breast cancer, endometrial and ovarian cancer, and anal cancer in HIV-positive men who have sex with men.

El programa RecerCaixa de la Obra Social de ‘La Caixa’ ha entregado las 19 nuevas ayudas a investigaciones de excelencia que apuestan por mejorar el bienestar social. El ICO ha sido premiado por un proyecto liderado por la investigadora Mireia Díaz, del Programa de Investigación en Epidemiología del Cáncer, para evaluar el programa de cribado cervical óptimo en Cataluña.
