Leslie Barrionuevo-Rosas is a public health physician and epidemiologist.
She is a medical graduate from the Peruvian University of Cayetano Heredia (2004), has a Master of Public Health from the University Pompeu Fabra – Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain, 2007), a medical specialty in preventive medicine and public health (Spain, 2010) and a PhD in Biomedicine (University Pompeu Fabra, Spain, 2015). Her PhD thesis regarded inequalities in cervical and breast cancer screening in Peruvian women.
Since 2011, she has worked at the Catalan Institute of Oncology, within the Infections and Cancer Unit as part of the HPV group.
Her primary activity is related to the HPV information centre (http://www.hpvcentre.net), which is a worldwide project with the objective of providing data at country, continent and world level regarding HPV-related cancers and precancers (e.g. disease burden, HPV-genotyping, and implementation of the prevention strategies).
