Alexandre Armillas holds a Biotechnology degree (University of Lleida, 2017), and a double Master in Bioinformatics & Biostatistics (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, 2021).

While undergoing his bachellor’s degree, he worked at Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research at Leipzig, Germany in the Flow Cytometry group in 2017, with the goal of studying the stoichiometry of bacteria populations. After graduation, he worked at the Teatre Municipal de l’Escorxador, in Lleida, managing the backend of the three public theaters of the city.

In 2024, he joined the Cancer Epidemiology Research Program (PREC) of the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO/IDIBELL), where he is currently working in the cervical cancer screening program. His main activity is working with the raw data, sourced from SISAP, and performing pre-processing, maintenance and clean-up for following studies, alongside presenting the data in an interactive format, with the goal of quantifying the effects of the current changes in the screening process are having on the population.
