Sara Montañés González

Sara Montañés holds a degree in Statistics (University of Barcelona-UB and Polytechnic University of Catalonia-UPC, 2022). Recently she has enrolled a Master’s program in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics (Open University of Catalonia-UOC, 2023). In addition, she has completed several courser on the Coursera platform such as Introduction to the Biology of Cancer and Survival Analysis in R for Public Health (2023).
While she was studying, she worked as an intern data scientist at a credit institution (Cofidis Spain, 2021). After completing the degree, she began working as a biostatistician in a Clinical Research Organization (MFAR, Marketing Farmaceutico & Investigación Clínica, 2022) specialized in cancer clinical trials.
In April 2023, she joined the Cancer Epidemiology Research Program (PREC) of the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO/IDIBELL), specifically in the Unit of Nutrition and Cancer (UNAC). Her responsibilities include conducting statistical analyses for various research activities, most of which are related to the EPIC study (European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition).
She is expected to continue working on EPIC studies and is eager to contribute to cancer research in the field of epidemiology.
